When speaking of the mission statement of our church there are two things we need to look at. The first is the global mission that all churches worldwide have, and the second is the individual mission that our local church has. Jesus gave very specific instructions that all churches everywhere are to follow. These instructions are:
- Love God with all your heart, soul and mind (Matthew 22:37)
- Love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:39)
- Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, be hospitable to strangers, take care of the sick, & visit those in prison (Matthew 25:31-40)
- Make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19)
At Harvest Family Fellowship we take these instructions seriously and do our best to follow them.
Our individual mission statement is "Building Stronger Families for a Better Tomorrow." At Harvest Family Fellowship we believe that strong families are the basis of strong communities. Strong communities are the basis of a strong nation, and a strong nation is the basis of a better world. If we want a better world, we need stronger families.
What do we mean by the phrase "stronger families?" We mean families in which spouses understand what love really is, where husbands and wives are able to communicate effectively with each other, where marriages are strengthened, and differences are understood and celebrated.
Stronger families means parents and children having meaningful relationships. Where parents and children learn to understand and respect each other, and where kids can grow up in a house full of love and encouragement.
Stronger families means giving single parents the help and encouragement that they need to do the world's toughest job.
Building stronger families also means helping singles make the best choices in their relationships - as the old saying goes "an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure"
How do we accomplish our mission? We accomplish our mission by offering books, articles, videos, classes, seminars, Bible studies, sermons, as well as counseling and coaching services, that all combine the best in modern research with the endless truths of the Bible. Our hope is to also accomplish our mission by living our lives as an example of what a strong family looks like. Life is hard at times and when life gets hard our goal is to walk beside families and help them in any way that we can.
